How many people does it take to assemble a display wall

This guide explains how folding display walls are assembled and dismantled and what affects the number of people needed. We focus on POP UP and TUBE fabric systems and on accessories that make preparing a display easier.
How a pop-up wall is assembled
Assembling a folding pop-up wall starts with taking the frame out of the case or packaging and opening the pop-up mechanism. In magnetic systems the parts connect with magnets, then the panels and fixing rails are fitted. Finally, extras such as a lectern or lighting are installed.
- Take the frame out of the case or packaging.
- Open the pop-up mechanism and expand the frame lattice.
- Fit the PVC panels and the top 3M rails.
- Align and straighten the graphic before the final fixing.
Dismantling and packing pop-up walls
Dismantling is the reverse of assembly. First remove the panels, take off the 3M rails and disconnect the lights. Separate the magnetic parts by hand, fold the pop-up frame and protect the graphic. The lectern, if there is one, is packed separately, and everything goes into the case or transport packaging.
- Remove the PVC panels and peel off the 3M rails.
- Separate the magnetic connections and disconnect the lights.
- Fold the lattice using the pop-up mechanism.
- Pack the graphics and parts into the wheeled case.
Assembling TUBE fabric walls
TUBE fabric walls are assembled by putting together the aluminium frame and pulling the fabric graphic over it like a sock. Models in the Atlantis series have a Ø 32 mm profile and graphics pulled over the frame, giving a smooth backdrop with no visible fixings. For larger sizes, pulling the fabric on needs to be coordinated so it is evenly tensioned.
- Assemble the Ø 32 mm aluminium profile according to the layout.
- Pull the fabric over the frame like a cover.
- Straighten the graphic to avoid folds and unevenness.
- For the double-sided version, check both graphics are evenly tensioned.
Accessories that make assembly easier
Accessories noticeably shorten graphic preparation and assembly. Self-adhesive 3M strips for POP UP in 67, 70 and 75 cm lengths let you fix panels quickly, and the POP UP structural bar stiffens the wall. The set of 6 POP UP wall panels and LED lights for POP UP walls make setting up the display easier.

- The LED light for POP UP and fabric walls improves print visibility.
What affects the time and number of people
Assembly time and the number of people depend on the structure and equipment. Weight is a good reference: the pop-up frame alone weighs 6–7.5 kg, a 3×4 wall in a case 29 kg, and a 3×4 set with lectern 34–38 kg. The wall shape, straight or curved, and the size, e.g. 3×3 or 3×4, also matter. Weight and a lectern or case change the transport requirements. MEGA SEG™ modules and add-ons such as LONG SET or MAGIC BOX mean extra connections to assemble.
- The shape and size of the wall determine the scale of work.
- Product weight affects handling and logistics.
- Extra equipment such as a lectern adds to the work.
- MEGA SEG™ elements and MAGIC BOX connectors need modular assembly.
Frequently asked questions
How many people are needed to assemble a 3×4 pop-up wall?
Manufacturers don't state the number of people for pop-up walls, so it's worth comparing the weight and scope of work. The Straight 3×4 POP UP wall in a case weighs 29 kg and is designed for quick set-up, while a set with lectern, for example the Black Pro Magnetic 3×4, weighs 34 kg and needs extra work fixing panels and equipment. For comparison, the product sheets of other systems sometimes state the number of people directly: Modulate™ walls are assembled by one person without tools, and the backlit LUNIX™ RGB by two.
Are TUBE fabric walls easy to assemble on your own?
Fabric walls are assembled by putting the profile together and pulling the fabric over it. Atlantis models have a Ø 32 mm profile and are light: the Atlantis Straight 300 × 230 cm weighs 8 kg, and the Atlantis U in the same size 15 kg. This makes the work easier, but for larger sizes pulling the fabric on needs coordinating.
Which accessories make assembly and dismantling easiest?
Mounting and transport items are useful. The top and bottom 3M strips for POP UP 75 cm make fixing panels easier, the set of 6 POP UP wall panels simplifies graphic preparation, and the cases with the Curved POP UP 3×3 and 3×4 models make transport easier.
