Modulate™, Vector, Fastframe™ or MEGA SEG™: which stand system should you choose?

Modułowe stoisko targowe Modulate™
Reading time: about 8 min

Modulate™, Vector, Fastframe™ and MEGA SEG™ are four systems you can use to build a stand with fabric graphics. In photos they look similar, because in each of them the surfaces are made of tensioned fabric. They differ, however, in frame design, how the graphic is fitted, assembly time and what you can build with them. Below we compare them side by side and suggest which one to choose for your stand.

Four systems at a glance

  • Modulate™ is a frame of 30 mm diameter aluminium tubes. The parts connect with catches and MagLink™ magnets, and the graphic is fitted like a pillowcase and closed with a zip.
  • Vector has a rigid, anodised 50 mm profile tightened with a hex key. The graphic with silicone edging (SEG) goes into the profile groove.
  • Fastframe™ is light frames made of 40 mm profile with nylon corners, joined by hand, without tools. The graphic also uses SEG technology.
  • MEGA SEG™ is single, pre-assembled walls made of 4.2 cm profile that unfold rather than being assembled from parts. The graphic is fixed with silicone edging.

Modulate™: when the stand needs to change often

Modulate™ works best for exhibitors who set up their stand differently every season. The frames have colour-coded sections, and MagLink™ magnets let you join walls at different angles. According to the manufacturer's instructions, one person can assemble a straight wall without tools.

The system includes not only straight walls but also curved and sloped (Slope) walls, a wall with a door and a magnetic counter. So you can build a stand with soft, rounded forms. The zip-up graphic covers the frame on both sides, so the walls look good from the back too.

Choose Modulate™ if: you assemble the stand yourself, have a small or medium space and want to rearrange or add modules for future shows.

Vector: when the stand should look like a permanent build

Vector has the thickest profile in this comparison (50 mm) and the tallest standard walls (2500 mm). Once assembled, the stand is rigid and resembles a permanent exhibition build rather than a set of walls. The SEG graphic tensions in the frame without folds.

It's a system for stands with a back room: the range includes doors, posts, right-angle arches and Illuminova™ backlit walls. Shelves, lighting and a TV can be mounted on the crossbars. The price of this stability is longer assembly, because the joints have to be tightened with a key.

Choose Vector if: you are building a larger stand with a storeroom, want to hang a screen or shelves and want the look of a professional build.

Fastframe™: when set-up time matters

Fastframe™ combines the SEG graphics known from Vector with tool-free assembly. The 40 mm profile frames are joined by hand in a line, at a right angle or in an arc. Among the ready stands in our range, it is the fastest system to assemble.

The parts are light and fit in transport bags. Optional Exhibition LED lights illuminate the graphic, and a TV kit and Fastframe™ counter complete the stand.

Choose Fastframe™ if: you often go to trade shows, set up the stand yourself in limited time and want a smooth SEG graphic without tightening frames.

MEGA SEG™: when you build walls from single modules

MEGA SEG™ works differently from the other systems. You don't buy a ready stand, but modules: MEGA SEG 100×200 wall with print and 120 and 150 × 200 cm walls. Each is pre-assembled and unfolds in a few seconds. Several walls join with connectors into a longer wall, and one graphic can cover several connected modules.

The standard height is 200 cm. LONG SET 2.3 and 2.5 kits raise it to 230 or 250 cm. The system also has a roof that forms a canopy over the stand, and a 100 × 200 cm storeroom for the exhibitor's belongings. A 100 × 200 cm wall weighs 2.1 kg and packs into a 28 × 9 × 108 cm box.

Choose MEGA SEG™ if: you want to start with a few walls and expand the stand gradually, need an island or a booth with a roof, or want small dimensions when packed.

How to match a system to your stand: three examples

A 3×3 m in-line stand, one person to assemble

You have one open side and no one to help. Go for Modulate™ or Fastframe™, as both assemble without tools. Modulate™ gives you a magnetic counter and arches, while Fastframe™ gives a smoother SEG graphic. The ready 9 m² sets are a good reference point.

A 6×4 m stand with a back room and a screen

You need a storeroom door, a TV bracket and walls that won't flex. In this case Vector is best: the door module, posts and accessory crossbars are part of the system. The 24 m² set is a model design that we'll adapt to your hall.

A few walls for different events

One time you go to a small industry show, another time you set up a backdrop at a conference. Buy a few MEGA SEG™ walls of different widths and combine them as needed. One graphic across several modules gives the effect of a continuous wall.

Graphics for each system

In all four systems the print is on fabric, but the file is prepared for a different fixing method. In Modulate™ the graphic is a pillowcase, so the design covers both sides and the frame edge. In Vector and Fastframe™ the fabric has silicone edging that slides into the profile, so the design has an allowance at the edge that hides in the groove. In MEGA SEG™ the graphic is fixed with 10 × 3 mm silicone edging, and one print can run across several connected walls.

Before sending the file, ask for the template for the chosen size. The template shows the bleed and the safe area where no text or logo should go. If you're considering printing on both sides, read the guide Single- or double-sided fabric wall.

Frequently asked questions

Can you combine parts from different systems?

Each system's frames and joints are designed for its own profile, so you can't join Modulate™ walls to a Vector frame. Some accessories can, however, be used across systems. For example, the Vector 24 m² set includes a Fastframe™ counter.

How much does a ready stand cost?

We price Modulate™, Vector and Fastframe™ stands from 6 to 24 m² individually. The price depends on whether you order the structure only, single- or double-sided print, and on extras such as a counter, lighting and TV bracket. We include a visualisation and lead time with the quote. MEGA SEG™ walls and accessories can be bought directly in the shop.

How many people are needed for assembly?

One person can assemble a straight Modulate™ wall. For large stands, especially Vector, plan for two people, as tall frames are hard to set up and level alone. You'll find more on this in the guide How many people does it take to assemble a display wall.

Can the stand be rearranged for a different space?

Yes, in all four systems. Modulate™ and Fastframe™ make it easy to change the angles between walls. In Vector you rearrange standard modules, and in MEGA SEG™ you add or remove walls. A layout change often means a new graphic, though, if the design ran across several walls.

Summary

Choose Modulate™ for flexibility and self-assembly, and Vector for a rigid, extensive build with a back room. Fastframe™ gives the fastest set-up with SEG graphics, and MEGA SEG™ lets you build a stand gradually from light, folding walls.

Send us your stand dimensions, the number of open sides and a list of the elements you need (counter, back room, screen). We'll propose a system and layout, and for ready stands we'll prepare a visualisation. See also exhibition stands and MEGA SEG™ walls.
