Formulate STRAIGHT and Atlantis fabric walls: structure, packing and transport

This guide focuses on the tube frame of fabric walls, how the cover is fitted and how to prepare for transport. The examples come from the Atlantis TUBE and Formulate STRAIGHT wall pages in the Maxi Expo range.
Frame parts and profiles used
A tube frame is based on aluminium profiles that form a light, stable structure. In Atlantis TUBE walls the main load-bearing elements are Ø 32 mm profiles, and in the Formulate STRAIGHT Ø 30 mm tubes. This design keeps the material taut and displays the print evenly.
- Atlantis TUBE walls have a Ø 32 mm aluminium profile, the Formulate STRAIGHT Ø 30 mm aluminium tubes
- In the Formulate STRAIGHT, numbered segments are linked by bungee cord and locked with catches
- The Formulate STRAIGHT has a central reinforcing bar and a pair of stabilising feet
- The Formulate frame assembles without tools, and the feet are fixed with the 6 mm hex key included
How the cover is fitted on the frame
The fabric cover goes directly onto the assembled frame. In Atlantis walls the graphic is pulled over the aluminium frame like a sock, so the material goes on and off quickly. In the Formulate STRAIGHT the graphic is fitted over the frame and zipped at the bottom. The key is even tension, to avoid folds and shifting of the print.
- In Atlantis walls the graphic is pulled over the frame like a cover
- Prints are available single- and double-sided
- First set up the frame, then fit the cover
- Align the edges before the final tensioning
Individual packaging before shipping
Before transport, check the package dimensions and product weight, which we give for each Atlantis wall. Atlantis walls are packed individually, which makes it easier to check and protect each item before shipping or loading into a vehicle.
- Each Atlantis wall is packed individually
- Package dimensions are given on the product pages
- The weight of the wall itself is given, e.g. the Atlantis Straight 300 × 230 cm weighs 8 kg
- Pay attention to load orientation when packing
Protecting parts and fabric
When packing, protect both the profiles and the cover. Atlantis walls come with a Canvas transport bag, the largest models (Curved 530 × 230 cm and Straight 590 × 230 cm) with a wheeled transport case, and the Formulate STRAIGHT with a soft bag with compartments. The fabric must be protected from dirt. The graphic can be washed and folded, but pack it dry and neatly folded, which makes later assembly and unloading easier.
- Protect profiles from scratches and knocks
- Protect the print from dirt and moisture
- Fold the cover dry and neatly before packing
- Label the packages for quick identification
Pallet logistics and transport planning
When planning transport, consider the package dimensions and the number of items per pallet. For each Atlantis TUBE wall we give the maximum number of items per Euro pallet, which makes bulk transport easier. This makes it easier to plan loading, package placement and the unpacking order at the event.
- Check the maximum number of items per Euro pallet
- Take package dimensions into account when planning the load
- Adapt the stacking to the package sizes
- Plan the unloading point
Frequently asked questions
Will the folded wall fit in a car?
That depends on the model. For example, the Atlantis Straight 300 × 230 cm double-sided TUBE fabric wall has a 30 × 21 × 74 cm package, and the Atlantis U 300 × 230 cm fabric wall with print 118 × 12 × 47 cm. Compare these dimensions with your boot space before planning the load.
How do you correctly fit a fabric cover on a tube frame?
In Atlantis walls the cover is pulled over the aluminium profile like a cover or sock until the graphic sits evenly on the frame. In the Formulate STRAIGHT the graphic zips up at the bottom, and gloves for fitting the graphic are included. With single- and double-sided prints, align the edges of the graphic before the final tensioning to avoid folds and shifting.
How do you plan Euro pallet transport for larger quantities?
Check the maximum number of items per Euro pallet for the chosen model. For Atlantis Straight, Curved and S walls up to 400 cm wide and the Atlantis S 600 × 230 cm the figure is 30 items. For both Atlantis U walls, the Atlantis Curved 530 × 230 cm and the Atlantis Straight 590 × 230 cm it is 20 items. Use these limits when planning the load and allow for the individual package dimensions.
